This was a great man whose reliable leadership and vote will be hard to replace. I read his book "The Supreme Court-How it Was, How It Is." (A great primer for students I would think) From the book its obvious that he loved the Court and his work.
Bryan, I'm thinking Scalia will be nominated as Chief Justice, and a Hispanic as Associate Justice. If the pundits are correct, the President should be able to nominate a "true" conservative to replace this "true" coservative without Senate Democrats going nuts. (OK, they'll probably go nuts no matter what but hope springs...)
Our Ann wasn't impressed with Roberts, which she called a stealth conservative. I share her concerns.
