Is she smarter than a fifth grader? I think not.

You may remember that in a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee in March, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) expressed his fear that if the United States were to station an additional 5,000 Marines and their families on the island of Guam, the island might capsize.  If you didn't see that one, you can watch it here.

Now, we have this bit of brilliance from Milwaukee.  The Milwaukee County Board recently considered a measure to boycott Arizona because of Arizona's new immigration legislation.  During the boycott debate, 12th District Supervisor Peggy West, who also serves on the Executive Committee of the Milwaukee Democratic Party, expressed the opinion that she would look more favorably upon the Arizona law if Arizona were on the Mexican border, you know, like Texas.

According to the Milwaukee County website, West, who was elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2008, represents 50,000 people on Milwaukee's south side.  Is it any wonder we're in the mess we're in?
