America, are you paying attention?

Folks, if this country doesn't wake up quickly to what is happening right before our eyes, one day we'll wake up to a country that we don't even recognize.

I want you to imagine that you are sitting at home, your home, with a group of 15 or so friends, and a government official knocks at your door. You answer the knock, and the government official proceeds to ask you a series of questions about what you and your friends are doing in your home. It turns out that you are holding a Bible study.

The government official tells you that you are in violation of the law. A few days later you are ordered to "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit."

Does this sound like something that might have happened in Cuba, North Korea, China, or maybe in the former Soviet Union? Yes, it probably has happened in all of those places. But this would never happen here, not in the United States of America. Would it?

Guess again! That's exactly what happened to David and Mary Jones of San Diego, California. You can read the 10News report here and the FOX News report here.

Read the reports.

I'm afraid for our country. I'm afraid for my children as they begin lives on their own. I'm afraid for my future grandchildren and the world in which they will grow up.

Americans had better wake up before it's too late!

If you go back and read the follow-up to this story, you will find that the county officials finally backed down after the pastor got a legal group involved. Then all of a sudden it turned from a question of religious freedom to a question of parking availability. Interesting original line of questioning from an official concerned about parking. Unless he was concerned about whether or not they were praying as they parked.

Thanks for that follow-up info. You're right; it had nothing to do with parking.
